Fr. George Thomas Chelackal was ordained priest for the eparchy of Thamarassery by Bishop Mar Sebastian Mankuzhikary on 29 December 1987. He was appointed Asst.Vicar.St.George’s Church, Kulathuvayal in 1988. Then he was appointed Asst.Vicar. St.Thomas Church, Marikunnu and Asst.Director.Catechism at PMOC in 1989. In the year 1990 he was appointed as the Vicar of St. Mary’s Church ,Kattullamala and Vicar of St. Joseph’s Church Pathippara. He was the Director of Cherupushpa Mission League from 1990 to 1996 and the Director of Catholic Youth Movement from 1995 to 1996.
In 1995 he was appointed as the parish priest of St. Joseph&#39s Church Erude. In 1997 he was appointed at Little Flower Church Koomully as vicar. Meanwhile, he secured a master’s degree in English Literature and Sociology and B. Ed. In 1997 was appointed as Teacher, Alphonsa School, Thamarassery. He served as Vice-Principal, Alphonsa School, Thamarassery from 2000. He was the Public Relations Officer from 2001 to 2004.
The year 2005 Fr. George Thomas Chelackal was appointed as the third principal of Alphonsa School Thamarassery. He was the President of Sahodaya school complex Malabar region Calicut. Fr. George Thomas Chelackal was a Member of the inspection panel to inspect schools seeking affiliation with C.B.S.E, Delhi. He was an Observer of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) in 2005 at Mumbai. He was the Centre Superintendent at Airport Senior Secondary School, Kozhikode Airport and Alphonsa English Medium School, Thamarassery. Fr. George Thomas Chelackal was the Co-ordinator of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) from 2008 to 2012. He was the Co-ordinator of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) from 2011 to 2013.

ലെസ്റ്ററിലെ മദര്‍ ഓഫ് ഗോഡ് ദേവാലയത്തില്‍ എട്ടു നോമ്പ് ആചാരണവും പ്രധാന തിരുനാളും ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. എട്ടു ദിനങ്ങളിലായി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന കര്‍മങ്ങള്‍ സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ ഒന്നിന് കൊടിയേറി എട്ടിന് അവസാനിക്കുന്നു. പ്രധാന തിരുനാള്‍ ദിനമായ എട്ടാം തിയതി താമരശ്ശേരി രൂപത അധ്യക്ഷന്‍ മാര്‍ റെമിജിയൂസ് ഇഞ്ചനാനിയില്‍ ചടങ്ങുകള്‍ക്ക് മുഖ്യ കാര്‍മ്മികനാകും. മുന്‍വര്‍ഷങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമായി ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മലയാളം കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി സംയുക്തമായി ഈ വര്‍ഷത്തെ തിരുനാള്‍ കൊണ്ടാടുന്നത് .തിരുനാള്‍ ദിനത്തില്‍ കുട്ടികളെ അടിമവെയ്ക്കുന്നതിനു കഴുന്ന് എടുക്കുന്നതിനും കൂടാതെ സമൂഹ വിരുന്നും ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. തിരുനാള്‍ ഇട ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ രാവിലെ കുര്‍ബാന ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലും തുടന്ന് നിത്യ ആരാധന നടത്തപെടുന്നതായിരിക്കും വൈകുന്നേരം മലയാളത്തിലും കുര്‍ബാന ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതായിരിക്കും. അനുഗ്രഹത്തിന്റെ ‌പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനയുടെ ഈ പുണ്യനിമിഷത്തിലേക്കു എല്ലാവരെയും സ്നേഹത്തോടെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയുന്നതായി .പള്ളി കമ്മറ്റിക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഫാ ജോര്‍ജ് തോമസ് ചേലക്കല്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.
