Fr. George Thomas Chelackal ( Vicar – St. Anthony of Padua Church, Wolverhampton, Mission Director – Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Wolverhampton & Vicar General – Catholic Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain) was born at Palai, in Kottayam district, Kerala,India on 7th June 1963. His parents Chelackal Thomas and Aleykutty were the natives of Palai, who migrated to Malabar in the year 1979. Fr. George has three brothers and two sisters.
He had his primary education at D.V.N.S.S.L.P.School Nechipuzhur, Pala and St.Joseph U.P.School Karoor, Pala, Kottayam. Having completed his high school education at St.Thomas High School Pala, Kottayam and Govt.High School, Puthupady, Kozhikode. He joined St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary, Tellichery for priestly formation. He did his Philosophical and Theological studies at St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Vadavathoor, Kottayam.
